Providing Aid
We voluntarily provide support and assistance to Marines, FMF Corpsmen, former Marines, and FMF Corpsmen, as well as to their widows and orphans.
Continuing Legacy
We are dedicated to preserving the history of the United States Marine Corps through commemorative acts and observances of significant Marine Corps anniversaries. Join us in celebrating the storied past.
Our History
The Marine Corps League Castle Rock Detachment 904 proudly carries forward the traditions and ethos of ALL Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen. Established in 1923, our Detachment's roots can be traced back to Major General Commandant John A. Lejeune, a distinguished hero of World War I.
Federal Recognition
In a significant milestone, our Detachment was federally chartered on August 4, 1937, by an Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America, signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This distinction makes us the sole Federally Chartered Marine Corps-related veterans organization in the nation.
Endorsement and Growth
Since our inception, we have received unwavering support from the active duty and Reserve establishments of the U.S. Marine Corps. Today, with a membership exceeding 76,000, including officers and enlisted personnel, active duty and Reserve Marines, honorably discharged Marine Veterans, and qualified Navy FMF Corpsmen, we continue to see annual growth, distinguishing us as one of the few veteran organizations experiencing such expansion.
Forging a Modern Path
At the helm of the Marine Corps League Castle Rock Detachment 904 is an elected National Commandant, supported by 14 elected National Staff Officers who serve as trustees. Together, the National Board of Trustees oversees 49 departmental entities and over 1100 community-based detachments nationwide and overseas.
Organizational Structure
Dynamic Leadership
The day-to-day operations are steered by the National Executive Director, tasked with managing all programs, activities, and affairs, while supervising the National Headquarters staff.
Governing Principles
The League's authority is rooted in its Congressional charter and its annual National Convention, held in different major U.S. cities each August, serving as a platform for setting the League's course and policies.
